New members join Park commission

 By CANDICE GRIMM: November 19, 2005 GATLINBURG - The awarding of a contract to build a new science and education center in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was announced Friday. Park Superintendent Dale Ditmanson announced the $4.5 million contract for the new Twin Creeks Science and Education Center at the Tennessee Great Smoky Mountains Park Commission meeting.  Equipping and furnishing of the center will bring the total cost to about $4.85 million. Groundbreaking on the center, which will be located just off Cherokee Orchard Road, is expected within a month and completion is expected by late spring of 2007. The Mountain Press
